INTEL chooses Smart Surface
INTEL Corporation, Embedded and Communication Group, has chosen Smart Surface to enter into a cooperation for testing Intel’s latest chip in gesture control applications, which are considered ones of the highest processor-demanding applications.
Intel is supplying their latest motherboard (model is confidential) together with their new AVX compilation software development tool and is funding the development.
As a first step, Smart Surface is developing a proof demo for INTEL within this year. The next step will involve greater cooperation whereby INTEL will consider financing a research for developing a full-fledged gesture control application using INTEL latest motherboard. The application will be developed by Smart Surface based on 3dimensional display technology from 3D International (see cooperation with 3Di).
Introducing 3Dimenional Gesture Control
Smart Surface Sdn Bhd & 3D International – the brand owner of Visumotion has accepted to cooperate on developing a gesture controlled three dimensional applications.
3Di will provide their technology of three dimensional view screens and Smart Surface will make the images gesture controllable.
As a first project, Smart Surface has already started developing an architectural application that allows gesture control of 3D architectural images for a large real estate client.
The next step will include wider applications such as gaming and medical.
3D International Group is an amalgamation of companies that posses state-of-the-art 3D screen and display technology with subsidiaries such as 3D International Europe GmbH (formerly known as VisuMotion GmbH) in Germany and 3D International of America Inc. (formerly known as ThreeView Technologies Inc.) in the USA.

3Di has chosen Smart Surface after examining their gesture control technology which Smart Surface has been developing for the past year as part of their touch-less multitouch control application development.
The success of this cooperation will create a true science-fiction-like application where people can manipulate with their bare hands holographic 3D images floating in the air.
Showcasing SmartFrame in Bangladesh
DzyneWorks, Smart Surface distributor in Bangladesh has showcased Smart Surface’s SmartFrame in “DIGITAL BANGLADESH FAIR 2010”.
The SmarFrame was presented with applications for Hotel Event Information System and Restaurant Ordering System.
The Bangladeshi market is very promising due its large size. New investments are being made by different consumer-based sectors for technologies that help in attracting new customers of this vast market.

Smart Surface is currently negotiating and showcasing their technology to Grameephone, one of the largest GSM cellular communication providers in the country.
SmartTable New Model

Smart Surface Sdn Bhd has further enhanced SmartTable LCD in term of component design and robustness in addition to improving the total response and increasing the number of simultaneous touches.
One external design of the new model is a V-Shaped Table which requires special know-how in fitting the components in the slim & slender body.

Smart Surface Sdn Bhd showcased its latest projects at the 6th World Islamic Economic Forum that was held between 18 -20 May 2010 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
The 6th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) is one of the most important business forums in 2010 with over 2000 participants featuring Heads of State, government officials and business communities of the Muslim world and beyond.

Smart Surface Sdn Bhd has assigned Significant Technologies Sdn Bhd as their agent in regard to surface computing and multitouch solutions to cover the Brunei Darussalam & Indonesian markets.
Significant Technologies Sdn Bhd provides services in communication (optical fiber products and related services) and education (training services and materials) and is especially strong in Brunei Darussalam where it has an established cooperation with Communication and Education ministries of Brunei.

SmartSurface’s SmartFrames at MIMOS

SmartSurface has been cooperating with MIMOS, the Malaysian Institute of Microelectronic Systems, by supplying our multitouch SmartFrame and providing training on multitouch programming.
Among the many applications Mimos is cooperating with SmartSurface on and using SmartSurface technology to develop is a SECURITY APPLICATION, showed in the pictures here. This Security Application allows hands-on direct mulititouch control over 60 security cameras at their facilities.



SmartWall was chosen to interactively showcase Malaysian Prime Minister program “1-Malaysia” at the launching event of the “Government Transformation Program” (GTP). The launching was held last week on the 28th & 29th of January 2010 at the “KLCC Convention Center” and was attended by representatives of most ministries in Malaysia.

Smart Surface In Bahrain International AirShow
Smart Surface was present at the Bahrain International Airshow that took place between 21 – 23 January 2010, exhibiting Airplanes manufacturers, Airlines, Airports, and related support industries. The organizer, Bahrain Airport Company, chose SmartSurface multitouch SmartScreen in the VIP Futuristic Chalet, hosting over 150 of CEO’s of the air industry and presenting the most technologically advanced solutions at the Air Show.
SmartSurface multitouch surface computing has enormous potential not only in advertising and content presentation for airports and airlines, but also as hands-on solutions for flight simulations, air defense war-games, and airport area management (See our SOLUTIONS).
